Job Description
We are currently hiring MIG and TIG Welders and Fabricators for an industry leader in UK’s Building Services sector. This opportunity has the potential for successful candidates to develop and retain further skills within numerous welding, fabrication, and preparation disciplines.
Hours: Monday to Friday, set days or set back shift available 40-44 hours (dependent on role/work area) standard per week.
Rate: £16-£21.83 per hour - Dependent on experience and shift with overtime available at 1.5
Job Overview
To work from shop drawings to weld/fabricate a range of pipe configurations while applying various methods to produce high quality welds.
Key Responsibilities:
* To read/interpret drawings.
* Use precision measurement instruments.
* Use of metal cutting and grinding equipment.
* Adhere to company welding procedures and ensure proper pipe preparation and fit-up.
* Fabricate and weld pipe sets for various diameters, typically carbon steel and stainless steel (65mm - 500mm).
* Responsible for highlighting any faults or damage to the machine and its tooling.
* Clean tools, equipment, and work areas, maintaining a safe working environment.
* To undertake training in line with company standards and any other duties deemed necessary by Management.
* Complete Cross Training in various welding activities.
* Always maintain a good working relationship with colleagues, whilst maintaining a high level of productivity.
Requirements:
Essential:
* Previous experience in Fabrication and welding with general and pipe welding
* Previous experience in welding preparation and fit up
* Previous experience in MIG and/or TIG welding processes to high standards
* Experience in reading, interpreting, and working to Welding procedures
* Competent using measurement instruments, Fillet gauges etc
* Ability to manage workload and meet project deadlines.
Desirable:
* Heavy or structural Fabrication experience
* Abrasive wheel training
* Previous experience as a pipe fabricator, producing a wide range of pipe arrangements with either TIG/MAG and able to use MMA.
