Job Title: Welder / Fabricator
Salary: Circa £40,000 (Depending on Experience)
Location: Ely, Cambs (Driving license and own vehicle preferred)
Shifts: Monday to Thursday 0730 to 1700 (4 day working week)

The Opportunity
My client is seeking a skilled TIG Welder / Finisher to join their busy fabrication factory. You’ll play a key role in producing high-quality stainless steel, mild steel, zintec, and aluminium assemblies to exacting tolerances. This is a hands-on, practical role where attention to detail and precision craftsmanship are essential.
What You’ll Be Doing
* Accurately TIG weld stainless, mild steel, zintec, and aluminium using a foot pedal, typically working with material thickness of 1mm–3mm.
* Weld box section frames and assemblies to tight tolerances and high standards.
* Dress and finish your own work using hand tools, electric angle grinders, and pneumatic orbital sanders.
* Ensure all parts conform to issued drawings and work instructions.
* Complete tasks within planned hours while maintaining high quality standards.
* Support the development of new products, fabricating jigs and fixtures where required.
* Carry out general sheet metal work and finishing to support the fabrication department.
What You’ll Need
Must-Haves:
* Proven TIG welding ability with a strong eye for detail.
* Experience working with stainless steel, mild steel, aluminium, and zintec.
* Ability to interpret and follow customer drawings and work instructions.
* Competence in dressing and finishing welds to a high standard.
* Experience in a manufacturing or similar environment.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills and a professional, team-oriented attitude.
* Experience completing paperwork to BSI aerospace standard (AS 9100) is desirable.
