Job Description
Welder – Northampton
Shift: 14:00–22:00, Monday to Friday (38 hours per week)
Salary: £15.50 plus £1 shift allowance
Contract: Permanent
Are you an experienced Welder who can weld to BS EN ISO 9606-1 and BS EN ISO 5817 standards?
Optimum TA are recruiting for a skilled Welder to join a well-established manufacturing business in Northampton. You’ll be part of a busy, supportive team producing high-quality metal components used across the power generation sector.
What you’ll be doing:
* Tack and weld metal components to engineering drawings
* Check the quality of parts before and after welding
* Measure, grind, and fettle welded parts using air and electric hand tools
* Support general workshop duties as required (training provided)
What we’re looking for:
* Ability to weld to BS EN ISO 9606-1 and BS EN ISO 5817 standards (or similar)
* Able to read and work from technical drawings
* Positive, can-do attitude and hands-on approach
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Flexibility and attention to detail
Training and Qualifications:
You’ll complete a company welding test before starting, and once onboard, you’ll be trained to BS EN ISO 5817 welding standard.
