Welder
Location: Wolverhampton
Pay Rate: £13.58 - £13.95 (PAYE) + 12.5% shift allowance + OT
Role Overview:
We are looking for an experienced and dependable Welder to join a busy manufacturing team. This role involves performing welding operations to a high standard, following technical specifications and safety procedures, while contributing to overall production efficiency and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare for welding by reviewing Weld Procedures, SOPs, Work Orders, technical drawings, and parts lists
Collect and inspect all necessary parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials prior to welding
Carry out welding on components such as rods and cylinders, using appropriate welding methods
Inspect components for damage or defects before use
Ensure non-welded parts are protected from weld spatter and potential damage
Perform visual checks and dimensional measurements to verify quality and accuracy of welds
Notify supervision of any defects or quality concerns
Conduct basic preventative maintenance on welding equipment and report any repair needs
Complete production documentation, including batch cards, inspection records, and maintenance logs
Maintain a clean and safe working area in compliance with all company procedures and health & safety regulations
Work independently, demonstrating an understanding of SOPs, quality standards, risk assessments, and COSHH documentation
Participate in relevant training to support performance and personal development
Take responsibility for identifying and managing any health, safety, or environmental risks related to the role
Key Requirements:
Previous experience welding TIG and MIG or MIG only
Ability to read and work from technical drawings and specifications
Knowledge of welding techniques and safety standards
Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
Capable of working independently and taking initiative
Flexible, reliable, and safety-focused
Willingness to undertake further training as needed
