Job Description
Welder / Fabricator - Colchester - £13 - £17 per hour (DOE) - Temp to Perm
Are you a skilled welder/fabricator looking for a stable, long-term opportunity? This is your chance to join a specialist engineering and manufacturing team with a strong reputation for designing and building bespoke steel structures, acoustic enclosures, and precision fabrications used across a wide range of industries.
What you'll be doing:
MIG welding of structural steel, balcony frames, acoustic enclosures, railings, and more
Plate fitting, working with welds up to 15-20mm thick
Reading and interpreting detailed technical drawings
Assisting with wider workshop tasks as needed
Collaborating with the fabrication team and project managers to ensure projects are delivered on time
What we're looking for:
NVQ, Diploma, or Apprenticeship in Welding & Fabrication
Experience working with MIG welding on medium to heavy gauge steel
Confidence in reading and working from technical drawings
Strong attention to detail and practical problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Own transport due to workshop location
