Job Description

Welding Instructor / Welding Trainer – MIG & TIG Previous teaching, training or assessing experience is desirable but not essential Salary: £21.00ph - (£41,000 Basic per anum) - Plus Bonus & Profit Share. Hours of work: 37.5 hours per week Monday – Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm Friday: 7:30am – 1:00pm Company: WEC Group Training Academy (MTL Rotherham) For over 45 years, WEC Group has been one of the UK's leading multi-award-winning engineering, fabrication and machining companies. Due to continued growth, we're looking for an experienced Welder/Fabricator to join our Academy as a Welding Instructor based at our MTL advanced division. If you're an experienced welder who enjoys helping others learn and would like to move into a training role, we'd love to hear from you. Key Responsibilities * Deliver and support the Level 3 Plate Welder Apprenticeship Standard. * Provide a professional and engaging onboarding experience for new apprentices. * Teach a range of welding and fabrication techniques, with a focus on safe working practices. * Assess apprentice performance and provide constructive feedback to support continuous improvement. * Support apprentices throughout their learning journey, helping them build confidence and technical competence. * Maintain training equipment and workshop facilities to the highest standards of safety and efficiency. * Promote a positive learning culture that encourages excellence and continuous development. About You We're looking for someone with excellent practical welding experience who enjoys coaching and developing others. You'll have: * Strong hands-on experience in MIG and TIG welding. * A solid background in fabrication and the ability to interpret engineering drawings. * Excellent communication and mentoring skills. * The ability to motivate, coach and support apprentices of varying abilities. * A proactive approach with the confidence to work independently and use your own initiative. * A genuine passion for developing the next generation of engineers. Please note: An Enhanced DBS check is required for this role. The cost will be covered by WEC Group.
