Adults Social Worker / Care Manager – Learning Disabilities (Band 3) Location: Westminster City Council Rate: £32.55 per hour (Umbrella) Contract Type: Temporary Working Pattern: Office-based 3 days per week minimum About the Role Westminster City Council is seeking a skilled and compassionate Adults Social Worker / Care Manager to join our Learning Disabilities team. This role focuses on conducting statutory reviews of care and support packages under the Care Act 2014, ensuring that individuals with learning disabilities and complex needs receive person-centred, empowering support. You will work collaboratively with residents, families, carers, and service providers to assess needs, evaluate support plans, and promote independence, dignity, and choice. Key Responsibilities Conduct statutory reviews of care and support packages for adults with learning disabilities. Assess care and support needs in line with the Care Act 2014, considering risk levels and individual strengths. Promote less restrictive living arrangements that support independence and community integration. Apply the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and associated guidance (e.g., Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards) in all aspects of practice. Undertake mental capacity and risk assessments confidently and competently. Safeguard adults by identifying and responding to concerns appropriately. Provide professional guidance to individuals and carers to support informed decision-making. Develop and review person-centred support plans that reflect the individual’s goals, preferences, and well-being. Work in partnership with families, carers, and providers to ensure assessed needs are met effectively.

Essential Requirements:

Degree/Masters in Social Work and SWE registration.

2+ years of post-qualification experience.

Strong knowledge of UK social care legislation and practice.
