Wood Machinist – Day Shifts – Derby
We’re currently recruiting for an experienced Wood Machinist to join a well-established manufacturing company based in Derby This is a full-time, ongoing opportunity offering day shifts, weekly pay, and the potential to go permanent after 12 weeks.
This role would suit someone confident working with timber and wood-based materials, using a range of industrial woodworking machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Operating woodworking machines such as saws, planers, spindle moulders, and routers
* Cutting and preparing timber to specification
* Reading technical drawings or cutting lists
* Checking product quality and meeting production targets
* Ensuring all machinery is used safely and maintained properly
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Wood Machinist or Joiner is essential
* Able to confidently use woodworking machines in a factory or workshop setting
* Good attention to detail and understanding of health and safety
* Reliable, punctual and a strong team player
* Able to work full-time and commit to a long-term role
Pay and Benefits:
* £13.00 – £22.00 per hour (depending on experience)
* Monday to Friday
* Weekly pay (every Wednesday)
* Free parking available on site
* Temp to perm after 12 weeks
* Supportive working environment with long-term prospects
Location:
* Based on the outskirts of Derby, easily accessible from Derby City Centre and surrounding areas - including Nottingham, Burton-on-Trent, Loughborogh,Ilkeston and Long Eaton. Great public transport links nearby and free on-site parking available.
