Wood Machinist – Fire Doors
📍 Wakefield, West Yorkshire
💷 £16–£17.50 per hour + bonus | Full-time, Permanent
We’re looking for an experienced wood machinist to join a busy fire door manufacturing team in Wakefield. This is a hands-on role working with both traditional woodworking machinery and modern CNC equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Operate spindle moulders, 4-cutter, planer–thicknesser, dimension saws, and beam saws.
Produce high-quality, bespoke fire door sets.
Maintain machinery and a safe, organised workshop.
Occasional forklift driving (training can be provided).What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a wood machinist (fire door/joinery background desirable).
Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
NVQ 2–3 in Joinery or Health & Safety certification (advantageous).Benefits
£16–£17.50 per hour (DOE) + performance bonus.
Monday to Friday, 42 hours (early Friday finish, no bank holidays).
Overtime available during peak periods.
