Woodland Officer | Forestry Officer | Forestry Advisor | Woodland Creation Officer East & East Midlands | Full-Time | 44 Hours per Week | Permanent Introduction Acorn by Synergie is recruiting for a Woodland Officer to support woodland creation, management and environmental projects across the East and East Midlands. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a background in forestry, woodland management, land management, countryside management or environmental conservation who wants a varied, field-based role with a genuine environmental impact. You'll work closely with landowners, farmers, local authorities, contractors and environmental organisations, providing advice and helping projects progress from initial ideas through to delivery. What We Offer Full-time position, 44 hours per week. Field-based working across the East and East Midlands. Opportunity to work on woodland creation and environmental projects. Key Duties Support landowners in developing and delivering woodland creation projects. Promote the environmental, economic and social benefits of woodland creation. Advise landowners on available grants, funding and incentives. Support forestry projects through relevant regulatory and approval processes. Provide advice on felling licences, forestry regulations and environmental requirements. Assess woodland management plans and proposed forestry activities. Support woodland owners in managing tree health, pests, diseases and climate-related challenges. Promote sustainable woodland management and improve woodland resilience. Support projects that enhance biodiversity and nature recovery. Build and maintain strong relationships with landowners, farmers, businesses, local authorities and environmental organisations. Provide professional forestry advice and support across the region. Manage a varied workload, making informed decisions and ensuring projects progress effectively. Requirements Background or relevant experience in forestry, woodland management, land management, countryside management or a related environmental field. Strong knowledge or interest in woodland creation, management and conservation. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to build trusted relationships with landowners and other stakeholders. Strong organisational and project management skills. Ability to assess information, make sound decisions and solve problems. Comfortable working independently in a field-based environment. Passion for the countryside, conservation and sustainable land management. Willingness to travel across the East and East Midlands as required. Interested?
