Looking for a teaching role that’s a bit different from the usual classroom setting? This unique position is based inside Heathrow’s Terminal 5, where you’ll combine teaching with hands-on support in the workplace.
You’ll be working with young people on a Supported Internship programme. They already have placements within the airport, so your role is to deliver functional skills (maths, English, and employability) and then support them directly in their job roles, helping them succeed day to day.
What you’ll be doing:
Delivering classroom sessions in maths, English, and employability
Supporting young people while they’re working in Heathrow Terminal 5, breaking down tasks, boosting confidence, and helping them develop independence
Working with managers and colleagues in the airport to ensure the right support and reasonable adjustments are in place
Providing updates to families and the programme team to track progress and celebrate achievements
About You
You will need either:
• A teaching qualification at Level 5 or above OR
• A Level 3 Award in Education and Training (AET) with experience delivering functional skills (maths and English)
You’ll enjoy working both in a classroom and directly alongside young people in the workplace
Most importantly, you’ll have the passion to help young people grow, gain confidence, and move into meaningful employment
Why this role is different
This isn’t a standard teaching role. You’ll be right in the heart of one of the world’s busiest airports, teaching and supporting young people in real jobs. It’s varied, rewarding, and you’ll see the difference you’re making every single day.
