Do you hold the required qualifications (ECITB NVQ Mechanical Level 3 and CCNSG) and, ideally, an IOSH Managing Safely certificate?
The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced Work Pack Engineer for a permanent, on-site position in Bridgwater. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, preparing, and managing work packs in line with site-specific procedures, ensuring projects are delivered efficiently, safely, and to the highest quality standards.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
Carry out all work pack preparation in accordance with client policies and procedures.
Ensure work packs are completed within the required planning timescale to meet contractual KPIs and OTIF targets.
Raise early warnings for potential delays and liaise with the Fabrication Manager to minimise disruption.
Chair weekly planning meetings, review progress, address delays, and maintain an up-to-date planning action log.
Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM) and raise requisitions for plant, consumables, and materials within scope.
Ensure adequate risk controls are in place during the planning phase.
Promote health, safety, environmental, and quality assurance in all planning activities.
Develop and implement Safe Systems of Work in compliance with HSEQ standards.
Work proactively with the team, providing support for ongoing project activities and ad-hoc requirements.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiencies.
Maintain up-to-date professional knowledge and competencies (CPD).
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
Mandatory: ECITB NVQ Mechanical – Level 3 and CCNSG.
Preferred: IOSH Managing Safely Certificate.
Experience in work pack preparation and planning in the engineering or construction sector.
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
