Working Ganger – Water / Utilities
Southend On Sea, Essex
£16.00 to £20.00 per hour plus overtime, 20 day holiday, pension
Equivalent to £40,000 to £50,000 per annum DOE

Our client is a civils contractor working predominantly within the drainage and sewers sectors. A lot of the work will involve working on underground pipelines predominantly for Water authorities. The repair and maintenance of drainage systems on the public highways. Experience of pipe laying and deep drainage from a Utilities, Groundworks or Infrastructure company is highly desired.
The company offer permanent employment with regular overtime paid at a time and one half. The company also offer training and qualifications on an ongoing basis to ensure that all staff remain compliant and upskilled.
Job description:
* Ensuring your site is fully staffed
* Have awareness of the skills / qualifications of your gang
* Undertake all drainage jobs as requested, ensuring where possible that work is completed on the first visit and to the required standard
* Pipe and patch lining where required
* To advise after the completion of every job the outcome and any recommendations including any additional work required
* Ensure that all paperwork is completed accurately, fully and legibly
* To carry out all works in accordance with Company Health & Safety policy, including wearing the correct PPE at all times and reporting all accidents or ‘near misses’ to the Operations Manager and the Health & Safety Manager
* To ensure that at the end of the work the site is clean and that all debris and waste have been removed
* Ensure that the site has the possession of all the required goods, tools and equipment to complete all assigned work.
Requirements:
* Full and clean UK Driving License
* 5+ years drainage experience
* Pipe and Patch Lining experience (desirable)
* Streetworks - NRSWA (Desired)
* EUSR (Desired)
* Confined Spaces
* CSCS Card
