Job Specification - Site Supervisor (Highways)

Position: Site Supervisor
 Project: A320 Highway Construction Works
 Engagement: Outside IR35
 Rate: £50.00 per hour
 Hours: Up to 48 hours per week
 Contract Type: Contract
 Reporting to: Senior Site Supervisor / Site Manager

Overview

We are seeking an additional Site Supervisor to support increasing construction activity across the A320 project. The successful candidate will ensure safe, compliant, and efficient delivery of on‑site works while helping the project meet Working Time Directive (WTD) requirements and overall programme commitments.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise daily highway construction activities in line with NEC Option B contract requirements.
Lead on‑site teams and subcontractors to ensure works are delivered safely, on time, and to quality standards.
Monitor compliance with method statements, risk assessments, and safety procedures.
Coordinate site logistics and ensure clear communication with project management and stakeholders.
Keep accurate records, site diaries, progress notes, and ensure timely reporting of issues.
Support problem‑solving on site and escalate risks or delays as required.
Promote a strong H&S culture throughout the site workforce.

Essential Skills & Experience

Valid NRSWA (Supervisor) certification.
Valid CSCS card.
Demonstrable experience supervising highway construction works.
Strong working knowledge of NEC Option B contracts.
Ability to work within a high‑pressure environment with multiple work fronts.
Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to direct labour and subcontractors.
Solid understanding of WTD compliance on major infrastructure projects.

Desirable

Experience working on major highways schemes or linear infrastructure.
SMSTS or SSSTS (advantageous).
First Aid at Work qualification.
