Job Description

Workshop-Based Power Access Engineer Location: Normanton Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time £33,742 per annum based on a 45 hour week (Monday to Friday, 7:30am – 5:00pm Overview: We are seeking a skilled Workshop-Based Power Access Engineer to join our team, specialising in vehicle-mounted MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms). You will play a key role in supporting the workshop function through inspection, maintenance, and repair of power access platforms. Reports to: Senior Engineer / Operations Manager Works closely with: Engineers, Parts Department, LCV Technicians Key Responsibilities: * Conduct pre-delivery inspections on vehicle-mounted Power Access Platforms at the depot. * Ensure all equipment complies with manufacturer guidelines, company standards, and safety regulations. * Report any defects or safety concerns to the Senior Engineer or Operations Manager. * Diagnose and repair faults on access platforms to ensure full operational compliance. * Accurately record all work via the workshop’s handheld tablet, including labour, parts used, and vehicle status updates. * Maintain effective stock control and record usage of parts and consumables. * Flag potential customer recharges or warranty issues to the Service Department. * Adhere strictly to the company's health and safety procedures. * Keep the workshop area clean, organised, and safe at all times. * Follow all company policies and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook. * Perform additional duties as required to support workshop operations. Candidate Requirements: * Proven experience in servicing and maintaining mobile or vehicle-mounted MEWPs. * Relevant maintenance qualifications and experience within the plant or access rental sector. * Strong diagnostic skills with knowledge of hydraulics, auto electrics, and fault-finding. * Ability to manage workload effectively and perform under pressure. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to customer service.
