With a strong focus on after-sales and workshop performance, the company now seeks an experienced Workshop Controller to lead its busy Nottingham-based service team of skilled technicians. About the Role As Workshop Controller, you’ll be responsible for managing and coordinating all day-to-day workshop operations. You’ll ensure that servicing, diagnostics, and repairs are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest standard — while keeping customers and internal teams informed throughout the process. This position is ideal for an experienced automotive Workshop Controller, Service Manager, or Senior Technician/Team Leader who thrives in a dynamic, customer-focused environment. Key Responsibilities * Lead, motivate, and manage a team of technicians to meet workshop targets for efficiency, productivity, and quality. * Plan and allocate work to ensure balanced workloads and maximum output. * Oversee all repair and service jobs, ensuring they meet manufacturer and company standards. * Monitor progress and communicate updates to the Service and After-sales teams. * Support recruitment, training, and continuous professional development of workshop staff. * Ensure all Health & Safety, compliance, and company policies are strictly followed. * Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs) such as efficiency, productivity, and rework rates. * Work closely with the Parts Department to maintain workflow and job completion. * Promote a positive, customer-focused, and professional workshop culture. Skills & Experience Required * Proven experience as a Workshop Controller, Service Manager, or Senior Technician/Team Leader within the leisure vehicle or automotive sectors. * Excellent leadership and people management abilities. * Strong technical understanding of vehicle diagnostics, servicing, and repair processes. * Confident communicator with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders. * Organised, analytical, and results-driven with a proactive approach to problem solving. * Experience using workshop management systems and job allocation tools. * Full UK Driving Licence (essential).
