This is a depot-based role for a qualified Electrician with experience in the preparation, testing, maintenance, and repair of electrical equipment and accessories. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and a proactive approach to workshop operations.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and test single and three-phase electrical equipment, including distribution panels, AMF panels, and transformers
Assemble and test electrical cables and accessories, including Powerlock, lugged, and Ceeform connectors
Carry out fault diagnosis and repairs on electrical equipment to operational and safety standards
Source and manage spare parts and maintain workshop stock
Support general depot tasks including loading/unloading and off-hiring equipment
Communicate with the operations team regarding equipment availability and shortfalls
Maintain a safe, organised, and compliant working environment
Contribute to continuous improvement in workshop procedures and safety practicesSkills and Experience Required
Relevant qualification in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (e.g. City & Guilds, BTEC)
OR completed an approved apprenticeship in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering
OR proven hands-on experience in servicing and repairing electrical equipment
Knowledge of control systems or load bank testing is desirable (training provided if needed)
CSCS card preferred (training can be arranged)
