The Overview
This role involves working in a small team of workshop engineers to service, maintain, and customise machinery in line with customer needs. The position is hands-on, with daily duties covering mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic elements. You’ll also collaborate across departments such as Service, R&D, and Stores to coordinate essential information and support wider business operations.
Key Responsibilities:
* Working to set checklists to prepare machines prior to sale or on-site use.
* Servicing and maintaining machinery.
* Building control panels using mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic components.
* Fault-finding on electrical systems.
* Designing small-scale electrical and pneumatic systems to meet unique customer requirements.
* Stripping down existing machinery and carrying out repairs.
* Safely handling and moving heavy machinery parts.
* Documenting and recording machine information accurately for cross-department communication.
* Using Word and Excel to create and update warehouse processes.
* Programming drives with pre-set manufacturer software and settings.
* Supporting service engineers with workshop-related queries.
* Collaborating with R&D projects where required.
* Maintaining a clean and safe work area at all times.
* Liaising with stores to ensure accurate booking-out of machine parts.
* Displaying a positive, team-focused attitude at all times.
The Candidate
Holds an engineering qualification, ideally apprenticeship-based.
Hands-on experience with pneumatics, electrical, and mechanical engineering.
Skilled in electrical and mechanical assembly.
Previous machinery building experience.
Panel wiring experience is desirable.
PLC software knowledge/experience is highly beneficial.
Able to take the initiative
Work well in a team
Computer literacy and ability to use Microsoft software (Word, excel, outlook)
Salary
£30,000 – £35,000 depending on experience and ability to meet key requirements.
