Workshop Fitter – Mechanical & Electrical
Monmouth | £37,500 | Bonus Scheme | Full-time, Permanent
Our client is a respected engineering business in the water treatment space, known for building high-quality, innovative products that support environmental performance across the UK. As part of their workshop team based in Monmouthshire, they’re looking to hire a Workshop Fitter with mechanical and electrical skills to support the assembly, servicing, and repair of specialist equipment.
You’ll be working in a fast-paced, well-organised team, focusing on mechanical assembly, electrical wiring, fault finding and refurbishing. With varied tasks and plenty of room to develop, it’s a great fit for someone who enjoys problem-solving, values quality workmanship, and wants a stable, workshop-based role.
Key Duties & Responsibilities:
* Assemble, install, and maintain mechanical and electrical components for water treatment systems
* Diagnose and repair issues with pumps, valves, piping, and control panels
* Carry out PPM and support pre-hire, post-hire and pre-sale checks
* Follow technical drawings and schematics with accuracy
* Identify and report faults, damages or defects using Azure
* Operate forklift equipment (where trained) and ensure tools and equipment are well-maintained
* Collaborate with engineers and other workshop staff to resolve technical challenges
* Maintain high levels of cleanliness, safety, and organisation in the workshop
Skills & Experience Required:
* Previous experience in mechanical and/or electrical assembly, servicing or repairs
* NVQ Level 2/3 in mechanical or electrical engineering or similar (preferred but not essential)
* Familiarity with electrical controls is an advantage
* Strong attention to detail and ability to follow technical instructions accurately
* Comfortable using hand and power tools in a workshop environment
* Willing to learn and grow – full training will be provided
* Forklift licence (desirable)
