Job Title: Workshop Foreman
Location: Birmingham
Salary: £50,000 + Bonus Scheme
Schedule: Monday to Friday – Day Shift
Overtime: Paid at time and a half
Are you an experienced Plant Fitter ready to take the next step in your career? We’re looking for a Workshop Foreman to lead a dedicated team of engineers in a clean, well-equipped workshop environment. Workshop Foreman – Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day operations in the workshop, ensuring all work is completed efficiently and to a high standard
Lead, support, and mentor a team of plant fitters and engineers
Carry out diagnostics, servicing, and repairs on a wide range of plant machinery (excavators, dumpers, rollers, telehandlers, etc.)
Allocate jobs and monitor progress to ensure deadlines are met
Ensure all work complies with health & safety and company standards
Maintain accurate records, including job cards and service documentation
Liaise with management on workshop performance and areas for improvement
Workshop Foreman – Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Plant Maintenance or equivalent (preferred)
Strong hands-on experience with construction or heavy plant equipment
Proven ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical faults
Previous leadership or supervisory experience (even informal) is desirable
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to lead by example and maintain high standards
