Job Description

Arden White is seeking a highly motivated, career-focused, and ambitious Workshop Lead Engineer to join a leading independent aviation solutions provider in Shannon. This role is specifically for the Structural & Mechanical (SM) Shops, overseeing aircraft structural and mechanical maintenance projects. You will work in a fast-paced, rewarding MRO environment, managing a skilled team to ensure aircraft maintenance tasks are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. The Role   As the Workshop Lead Engineer – SM Shops, you will: Lead and manage the performance of the Structural & Mechanical team. Oversee day-to-day operations in SM workshops, ensuring high-quality execution of aircraft maintenance and repair tasks. Support recruitment, selection, and development of engineers and trainees. Assign and roster staff in line with project requirements. Ensure your team is fully informed of operational updates, aircraft status, and project briefs. Collaborate with aircraft management teams to progress projects in line with plans. Perform certification and component release approvals for SM components. Maintain quality, housekeeping, health & safety, and tool control standards. Deputise for senior management or other Lead Engineers as required. Contribute to continuous improvement and process optimisation within the SM Shops. Candidate Requirements   Must hold S1/P1 STR in at least one area (with ability to obtain in additional areas). Strong expertise in aircraft structural and mechanical maintenance. Previous Team Leader or Lead Engineer experience preferred. In-depth knowledge of Lean processes, including ‘PPM’. Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills. Ability to develop individuals and teams. Good planning, organisation, and IT skills (including ERP systems). Must meet medical and airport security standards.
