Workshop Manager - Bedford
Up to £50,000 Basic Salary | Full-Time | Permanent | Bedford Depot
Are you a hands-on leader who knows plant machinery inside out?
If you're ready to take full ownership of a busy workshop and lead from the front, this could be your next big move.
We're on the hunt for a Workshop Manager who's not afraid to roll up their sleeves, drive performance, and build a winning team culture. You'll oversee all workshop operations - from maintenance schedules to team leadership - making sure every piece of kit is hire-ready and running like clockwork.
What You'll Be Doing:
Leading and developing a team of Fitters and Yard Staff
Planning & assigning maintenance, PDI's, LOLERs, and repairs
Managing workshop stock and ordering processes
Ensuring quick equipment turnaround to meet demand
Driving safety standards, 5S, and continuous improvement
Collaborating with Depot & National Ops Managers
Stepping up for the Depot Manager when needed
What We're Looking For:
City & Guilds / NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plant Maintenance (or equivalent)
Solid background in plant equipment and repair
Proven leadership experience in a workshop environment
Organised, calm under pressure, and a great communicator
IT-literate and confident with workshop systems
Full UK driving licence (max 3 points)
You'll Bring:

Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
