The working hours for this role are Monday to Thursday 07.30 to 16.30 & Friday 07.30 to 13.30
We are proud to be working on behalf of our prestigious and world-known manufacturing client based in Diss. This client has a new Temporary to permanent opportunity available in their workshop The successful candidate will have previous experience reading and interpreting engineering drawings in a workshop, manufacturing or production assembly environment. The successful candidate will be put through an internal qualification on brazing specific to the industry they work within
Position Overview:
The operative is responsible for the preparation, assembly, and brazing of components and sub-assemblies in accordance with engineering specifications, quality standards, and production schedules. Working as part of the manufacturing team, the role requires a high level of attention to detail, manual dexterity, and commitment to producing high-quality products safely and efficiently.
The role contributes directly to departmental productivity, quality, and continuous improvement objectives while supporting a culture of safety, teamwork, and operational excellence.
Skills & Experience
Experience working within a production or manufacturing environment.
Experience in brazing, soldering, welding, or similar would be beneficial but not essential
Ability to read and understand engineering drawings and work instructions.
Good attention to detail and quality standards.
Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
Good manual dexterity and practical skills.
Strong awareness of workplace health and safety requirements.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles or 6S methodology.
Relevant engineering or manufacturing qualification.
Duties & Responsibilities
Production & Quality
Perform brazing operations on components and assemblies in accordance with engineering drawings, work instructions, and company standards.
Prepare materials and components prior to brazing, ensuring all surfaces are clean and fit for purpose.
Assemble parts accurately before brazing to ensure correct alignment and fit.
Inspect completed work to ensure compliance with quality requirements.
Identify defects, non-conformances, or potential quality concerns and escalate as appropriate.
Maintain a "Right First Time" approach to minimise rework and scrap.
Ensure production targets are achieved whilst maintaining quality standards.
Complete all production documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
Support root cause investigations relating to quality or production issues when required.
Teamwork & Continuous Improvement
Work collaboratively with colleagues across manufacturing departments.
Participate in team meetings and improvement activities.
Support the training and development of new team members where requested.
Contribute ideas to improve productivity, quality, safety, and efficiency.
Demonstrate flexibility in supporting other manufacturing activities as business needs require.
