Job title: Workshop Supervisor
Location: Downhill Road, Bracknell, RG12 1QS
Hours: 4 on 4 off shift, 06:00 – 17:00
Reporting to: Engineering Manager.
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the engineering team. This role is responsible for supervising maintenance staff, ensuring all vehicles are serviced, inspected, and repaired to the highest standard, and that safety, quality, and operational targets are met. The successful candidate will act as the first point of contact and will be key to delivering engineering excellence in a time-sensitive environment.
Workshop Supervisor Duties:
Supervise and support a team of technicians and cleaning staff on shift, ensuring effective task allocation and workflow.
Oversee vehicle inspections, maintenance, and repairs in accordance with company and DVSA standards.
Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently, and in line with company procedures.
Monitor vehicle availability and liaise with the Operations team to minimise vehicle downtime.
Conduct quality checks on completed work and ensure accurate and timely documentation is maintained.
Provide hands-on technical support where necessary, especially for urgent or complex faults.
Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Participate in team briefings and handover meetings to ensure seamless communication between shifts.
Workshop Supervisor Skills:
Time-served technician with NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in PSV/Heavy Vehicle Maintenance or Engineering.
Proven experience in a supervisory or team-leading role within a fleet or workshop environment.
Strong technical knowledge of PCV (Passenger Carrying Vehicles).
Good understanding of DVSA regulations and maintenance compliance standards.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Flexible approach to working hours and problem-solving.
