Urgent 1-1 Teaching Assistant (TA) - Physical Disability Support Location: Small Heath, Birmingham Start Date: Immediate Temporary Role: Until July Aspire People is seeking an experienced and compassionate 1-1 Teaching Assistant (TA) to provide dedicated support to a Year 6 male pupil with a physical disability. This is an urgent requirement, and we need someone who can start immediately. You will play a key role in supporting the wellbeing of the pupil, ensuring their physical and educational needs are met in a safe and nurturing environment. Key Responsibilities: * Provide 1-1 support to a Year 6 male pupil with a physical disability. * Assist with physical mobility, including transferring safely between a wheelchair and the toilet, and providing support in accessing the wet room. * Offer general classroom support to ensure the pupil is fully engaged in lessons and activities. * Maintain a calm, supportive, and respectful approach, promoting the pupil's independence where possible. * Work closely with the class teacher and SENDCo to ensure the pupil's needs are fully met and to implement any specific strategies required for their development. Requirements: * Previous experience as a 1-1 Teaching Assistant, specifically supporting children with physical disabilities. * Experience with intimate care procedures, including assistance with personal hygiene and mobility. * A patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to working with children with additional needs. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team to deliver effective support. * A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. About the Role: * This is a full-time, temporary role with an immediate start. * The role will last until July, with the possibility of extension depending on the pupil's needs. * You will be responsible for supporting the physical wellbeing and access needs of the pupil, which may include intimate care. * This is an urgent requirement, and we need someone who can start without delay.
