Job Description
Involve Recruitment (Midlands) Ltd are supporting a Industry leading small to medium size Contractor who has been successfully running for over 50 years!
* Yard Manager
* Salary - £35,000 to £38,000, Company bonus paid out 3 x a year
* 21 days holiday plus bank holidays
* Hours of work Monday to Friday 7-4 occasional half day Saturdays required. (Overtime will be paid)
For this role you will need previous experience of managing a Yard, a full drivers licence and a Forklift truck license
Daily responsibilities are:
* Managing and organising the resources within the construction yard, including equipment, machinery, tools, and materials
* Handling the logistics and inventory control within the construction yard
* Overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment to ensure its optimal functioning.
* Handling the disposal or replacement process when equipment reaches the end of its useful life or is no longer cost-effective to maintain.
* Health and safety within the yard.
* Overseeing the yard staff, assigning tasks, providing guidance and support
* Establishing and maintaining relationships with equipment manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers. Negotiating contracts, coordinating equipment deliveries and pickups, and managing relationships to ensure timely and reliable equipment support.
* Maintaining accurate records related to yard operations
* Process improvement
* Maintaining Consumables/supply inventory along with all the PPE gear required
* Yard Presentation.
The ideal person will have previous experience in Yard Management, a FLT License and be systems savvy – ideally the company want to invest in a new system so this role will play a huge role in the implementation of this new system!
