Job Description
Fraser Edwards is recruiting for a Yard Operative/Storeman on behalf of a construction contractor for a permanent role based in Baldock and the surrounding areas.
Duties :
* Organise and maintain yard and storage areas, keeping materials safely and efficiently stored.
* Conduct regular inventory checks and support the reordering process.
* Load and unload materials and equipment from delivery vehicles and site locations.
* Prepare materials in advance for upcoming projects.
* Maintain compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
* Keep accurate documentation of materials received and issued.
* Work with contract managers and site supervisors to ensure project readiness.
* Carry out general yard maintenance and occasional repairs at various project locations.
* Deliver and collect materials or equipment as required.
* Ensure company property, vehicles, and tools are well maintained.
* Complete all required company training and work to high standards of customer service.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Previous yard/warehouse experience (preferably construction-related).
* General builder or construction trade experience.
* Full clean driving licence is essential.
* Good physical fitness – able to lift heavy materials and work outdoors in various conditions.
* CSCS card holder.
* Basic computer literacy for inventory and record keeping.
* PASMA and IPAF (or willingness to train).
* Excellent organisational and communication skills.
* A reliable, proactive team player who can also work independently when needed.

* Strong interpersonal and communication skills – internal and external.
* Reliable, timely, and honest – someone who takes pride in their work.
* Ability to follow both written and verbal instructions.
Working Hours:
8am – 5pm Monday – Friday
