Location: East Grinstead

Salary: £36K DOE

Are you an organised, hands-on leader with experience in yard or warehouse operations? Our client, an established organisation within the construction trade, is looking for a proactive Yard Supervisor to join their team.

About the Yard Supervisor role:

As Yard Supervisor, you'll oversee day-to-day yard operations, ensuring goods are handled correctly, equipment is used safely, and team members are working effectively. You'll play a key part in maintaining high operational standards, meeting deadlines, and supporting the wider site.

Yard Supervisor Key Responsibilities:

Supervise daily yard operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and organisation
Lead, support, and motivate yard staff to meet performance targets
Manage the movement, loading, and unloading of materials and goods
Ensure all inbound and outbound items are checked, recorded, and stored correctly
Allocate workloads and plan staffing to meet operational demands
Conduct regular safety checks, including equipment inspections
Maintain a clean, tidy, and compliant yard environment
Liaise with drivers, warehouse teams, and managers to support smooth workflow
Monitor stock levels and report any discrepancies
Train new staff on yard procedures and safe working practicesAbout You:

Previous experience in a yard, warehouse, or logistics environment (ideally at a supervisory or managerial level)
Strong leadership and organisational skills
Confident communicator who works well under pressure
Health & safety focused, with a proactive mindset
Forklift licence (desirable but not essential)
Ability to manage workloads and prioritise effectively
Comfortable working in outdoor and fast-paced settings
Must be a driver due to locationWhat We Offer:
