Job Vacancy: Year 1 & 2 Primary Teacher - Grantham
Location: Grantham, Lincolnshire
Contract: Full-Time, Long-Term
Year Groups: Year 1 & Year 2
Start Date: September 2025
Simply Education is working closely with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Grantham to recruit a dedicated Long-Term Primary Teacher to take on a mixed Year 1 and Year 2 class from September 2025. This is a full-time position for the duration of the academic year, with the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
About the Role:
This role involves taking full classroom responsibility for a mixed Year 1 and 2 class. The school is looking for an enthusiastic and confident teacher who can deliver engaging and creative lessons while fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment. You'll work closely with colleagues, teaching assistants, and parents to ensure every child makes strong progress.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons in line with the national curriculum
Differentiate teaching to support a range of abilities, including SEN pupils
Assess and track pupil progress, using data to inform teaching
Create a nurturing and stimulating classroom environment
Work collaboratively with staff to contribute to the wider life of the school
Maintain strong communication with parents and carers
Ensure high standards of behaviour and safeguarding practices
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in KS1, preferably both Year 1 and Year 2
Strong understanding of early phonics, assessment, and KS1 curriculum
Excellent classroom management and organisation skills
A nurturing and reflective approach to teaching
Ability to build strong, positive relationships with pupils, staff, and families
