Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable teacher with a passion for supporting early learning? Tempest Education Lincolnshire is seeking a dedicated Year 1 Supply / Maternity Cover Teacher to step in and inspire young learners in Grimsby.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a creative and flexible teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, ensure continuity of learning, and foster a positive classroom environment.
Key Responsibilities
Teach and manage a Year 1 class, following the school's curriculum and lesson plans.
Adapt lessons to meet the needs of all learners, including pupils with SEN or EAL.
Ensure continuity of learning during teacher absences.
Create a safe, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment.
Manage behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
Assess pupil progress and provide constructive feedback.
Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff.
Follow safeguarding policies and promote pupil wellbeing.
Skills and Qualities
Strong classroom management and organisational skills.
Ability to adapt quickly to new school settings and routines.
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
Creative approach to delivering engaging, age-appropriate lessons.
Patience, resilience, and a calm manner under pressure.
Solid understanding of the KS1 curriculum and phonics teaching.
Ability to differentiate learning for mixed-ability groups.
Requirements
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) (essential).
Proven experience teaching in KS1, ideally Year 1.
Up-to-date knowledge of the National Curriculum and assessment.
Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).
