Are you an experienced Year 1 Teacher ready for your next opportunity in a well-established school?

Are you a qualified Primary Teacher with QTS with a strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, particularly phonics, early reading, and foundational maths?

Academics are proud to be working with a supportive two-form entry primary school in East Leeds, who are looking to appoint a proactive, and resilient Year 1 Teacher to start in September!

This primary school in East Leeds have a strong and supportive senior leadership team and has a clear vision centred around high expectations, inclusion, and pupil wellbeing. Staff are supported through collaborative planning, consistent behaviour policies, and ongoing CPD opportunities, creating a positive and supportive working environment.

The school are keen to appoint a Year 1 teacher with strong KS1 experience and confidence in delivering high-quality phonics and early reading provision. Experience supporting pupils with challenging behaviour is essential, as the class requires a teacher who can establish firm boundaries, build positive relationships, and implement consistent behaviour strategies.

The Successful Candidate Will:

Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons aligned with the KS1 curriculum
Demonstrate strong phonics and early literacy knowledge
Confidently manage and support pupils with challenging behaviour
Build positive relationships with parents and carersFor this Year 1 teacher position you must:

Have a DBS on the Update Service or happy to apply for one through Academics
Have a teaching qualification (QTS)
Have experience and understanding in KS1 teaching
