The Role:
Teach a class of Year 1 children, supporting their transition from the play-based EYFS model to the more structured KS1 approach
Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons that develop core literacy, numeracy, and personal skills
Deliver daily phonics instruction (training provided if needed)
Create a calm, consistent classroom environment rooted in routine, praise, and high expectations
Communicate regularly with families and staff to support pupils' progress and wellbeing
What We're Looking For:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), with KS1 or EYFS experience preferred
Passion for early child development and age-appropriate pedagogy
Knowledge of phonics schemes, early writing strategies, and Year 1 curriculum expectations
Organised, reflective, and creative teaching approach
Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
Enthusiasm, warmth, and a genuine interest in building positive relationships with young learners
