We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Year 1 Class Teacher to join our caring and inclusive primary school in Derbyshire from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent role suited to a passionate educator who understands the importance of early learning and wants to make a lasting impact on children at a key stage in their development.

About the Role
As our Year 1 Class Teacher, you will be responsible for guiding children as they transition from the Early Years Foundation Stage into the more structured world of Key Stage 1. You will plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons, create a stimulating and inclusive classroom environment, and use formative assessment to inform learning.
You will also contribute to wider school life, working closely with colleagues, support staff, and parents to build strong relationships that support each child’s progress and wellbeing.
This role is open to experienced teachers and Early Career Teachers (ECTs). A full induction and mentoring programme is available.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience teaching in EYFS or KS1, or a strong understanding of early child development

Secure understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and effective assessment strategies

Excellent classroom and behaviour management skills
*
A commitment to inclusive practice and supporting all learners
*
A reflective practitioner who values teamwork and professional growth

A strong commitment to safeguarding and the wider life of the school
