Year 1 Class Teacher – Full-Time, Permanent Location: Hackney, London Start Date: September 2025 Contract Type: Full-Time, Permanent Salary: MPS/UPS (Inner London – dependent on experience) An ambitious and inclusive primary school in the heart of Hackney is seeking to appoint an exceptional Year 1 Class Teacher to join its dynamic and supportive team from September 2025. This is a full-time, permanent position and offers a fantastic opportunity for both experienced teachers and confident Early Career Teachers (ECTs) with a passion for Key Stage 1 education. Role Responsibilities: * Deliver consistently high-quality teaching to a Year 1 class, fostering academic progress and personal growth. * Plan and deliver engaging lessons that are closely aligned to the Key Stage 1 curriculum, with a focus on early literacy and numeracy. * Create a safe, stimulating and inclusive learning environment that reflects high expectations for all pupils. * Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress, identify gaps and inform planning. * Develop strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues to support a cohesive and nurturing school experience. * Contribute actively to the wider school community through staff meetings, CPD, and enrichment activities. Candidate Requirements: * Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential. * Experience in Key Stage 1, particularly Year 1, is desirable (including school placements for ECTs). * A deep understanding of early reading and phonics (e.g. Little Wandle, Read Write Inc. or similar schemes). * Strong classroom management and lesson delivery skills, underpinned by high expectations. * A reflective and proactive approach to teaching and professional growth. * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. * A firm commitment to inclusion, equality and safeguarding.
