We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Year 2 Teacher to join our team in September 2025, with subject leadership responsibility to be matched to the candidate’s strengths.
Role Overview:
As a Year 2 Teacher, you will be responsible for guiding pupils through their final year of Key Stage 1, laying strong foundations for their transition into KS2. Alongside classroom teaching, you will take on the leadership of a subject area across the school—contributing to curriculum development, staff training, and raising standards in your area of responsibility.
Key Responsibilities:

Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the diverse needs of Year 2 pupils
*
Prepare pupils for end-of-KS1 assessments while fostering a love for learning
*
Lead a core or foundation subject (e.g., English, Maths, Science, Computing, or Humanities) across the school
*
Support colleagues in delivering your subject through coaching, planning, and resource development
*
Monitor and evaluate the impact of your subject across year groups
*
Contribute to school improvement and participate in staff development activities
*
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
We Are Looking For:
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*
Experience teaching in Key Stage 1, ideally in Year 2
*
Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum and end-of-key-stage assessments
*
Proven classroom excellence and the ability to support pupil progress
*
A subject specialism and/or experience in leading a curriculum area
*
Excellent communication, leadership, and organisational skills
*
A reflective, committed professional with a collaborative mindset
*
This role is not suitable for Early Career Teachers (ECTs)
