Job Description
Year 3/4 SEN Teaching Assistant - Brixton Primary School - Immediate Start
Pertemps Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Brixton to recruit a committed SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 3 and Year 4 within the school’s Additional Resource Provision (ARP).
This full-time role is available for an immediate start and offers a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with special educational needs, including autism, speech and language difficulties, and sensory processing challenges.
Location: Brixton
Start Date: September
Contract: Full-Time, Term-Time Only
Salary: Competitive (dependent on experience)
About the Role:
Provide 1:1 and small group support to pupils in Year 3/4 within a specialist ARP setting
Support pupils in accessing a tailored curriculum focused on communication, emotional regulation, and life skills
Implement strategies to promote engagement, independence, and positive behaviour
Work collaboratively with class teachers, the SENCO, and multi-agency professionals
Assist with routine classroom tasks, transitions, and any necessary personal care
Support assessment and contribute to learning plans and review meetings
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have experience supporting pupils with SEN, particularly in Key Stage 2
Be confident working with children with autism, social communication needs, and sensory differences
Be calm, resilient, and nurturing in their approach to supporting pupils with additional needs
Demonstrate excellent teamwork and communication skills
Be passionate about inclusive education and promoting pupil wellbeing
Have experience in or a strong interest in working in a specialist or ARP provision
