Role Responsibilities:
The successful Year 5 Teacher will:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that align with the Key Stage 2 national curriculum
Work collaboratively with the parallel Year 5 teacher and the wider KS2 team to ensure consistent and effective teaching
Use formative and summative assessments to track pupil progress and inform future planning
Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all learners, including those with SEND, EAL, and those working at greater depth
Maintain a positive and well-managed classroom environment that fosters respect, independence, and curiosity
Build strong relationships with pupils, parents, and colleagues
Participate in staff meetings, CPD, and wider school life, including enrichment and extra-curricular opportunities
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally in Year 5 or upper KS2
Strong knowledge of the Key Stage 2 curriculum and assessment practices
A reflective and forward-thinking approach to teaching and learning
Excellent communication, organisational, and teamworking skills
A commitment to inclusive practice and raising achievement for all pupils
High expectations for behaviour, effort, and pupil outcomes
