Year 5 Teaching Assistant - Part Time - Barry
Days: Wednesday to Friday
Daily Rate: £88.94 (increases dependent on experience, client rate, and qualifications)
A welcoming and forward-thinking primary school in Barry is currently seeking a committed and enthusiastic Year 5 Teaching Assistant to join their Key Stage 2 team on a part-time basis (Wednesday to Friday). This is a fantastic opportunity to become part of a supportive school environment that values energy, initiative, and high standards of classroom support.
Role Responsibilities:
Provide general classroom support to the class teacher and pupils in a Year 5 setting
Assist with delivering high-quality learning activities across the curriculum
Support pupils with varying needs, helping to create an inclusive and engaging learning environment
Promote positive behaviour in line with the school's policy and ethos
Work collaboratively with the teaching team and contribute to wider school life
Candidate Requirements:
Proven experience working within a Key Stage 2 classroom
Strong behaviour management skills
Energetic, dynamic, and confident in leading or supporting active and engaging learning activities
A proactive and enthusiastic approach to supporting children's learning and development
Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
Registration with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
The school is particularly interested in individuals who are active, dynamic, and confident in engaging pupils through sport, physical activity, or energetic classroom practice. A background in sports coaching or similar would be advantageous.
