We are seeking a passionate and experienced Year 6 Teacher to join our team from September 2025, someone who can inspire confidence and prepare pupils for the transition to secondary school.
The Role
This is an exciting opportunity to teach a Year 6 class and play a key role in helping pupils reach their full potential during a pivotal year in their primary education. You will plan and deliver stimulating lessons across the curriculum, lead on preparation for SATs, and support pupils’ academic and personal development in a safe, motivating environment.
We welcome applications from experienced KS2 teachers and strong ECTs who are keen to take on the challenge of Year 6.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality teaching to a Year 6 class in line with the National Curriculum
*
Prepare pupils for end-of-key-stage assessments (SATs) with confidence and care
*
Create a calm, purposeful, and inclusive classroom atmosphere
*
Use a range of assessment strategies to track progress and plan next steps
*
Work closely with the upper KS2 team to share best practice and support transition
*
Build positive relationships with pupils, families, and colleagues
*
Contribute to wider school life, including clubs, trips, and special events
We Are Looking For
*
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
*
A strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and end-of-year expectations
*
Experience teaching upper Key Stage 2 (Year 5 or Year 6) is desirable
*
High expectations of behaviour and achievement
*
Excellent organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills
*
A collaborative, reflective approach to teaching and learning
*
A commitment to safeguarding, equity, and inclusion
*
