Year 6 Teacher – Maternity Cover (September 2026 – July 2027) 
Location: Birmingham 
Salary: £150 – £210 per day (dependent on experience) 
Contract: Full-time, Fixed Term 
Start Date: Sepember 2026

PK Education are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and dedicated Year 6 Teacher to join a welcoming primary school in Digbeth, Birmingham. This is a full-time maternity cover position starting in September 2026 and running until July 2027. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate Key Stage 2 teacher who is confident teaching Year 6 and supporting pupils through their final year of primary school, including preparation for SATs and transition to secondary education. 

The Role: 

Full-time Year 6 class teacher 

Planning, preparing and delivering engaging lessons in line with the National Curriculum 

Preparing pupils for Key Stage 2 SATs 

Assessing and tracking pupil progress 

Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment 

Working collaboratively with teaching assistants and school staff 

Communicating effectively with parents and carers 

The School: 

Friendly and supportive primary school in the B12 area of Birmingham 

Strong leadership team and collaborative staff environment 

Well-behaved and enthusiastic pupils 

Supportive teaching assistants and resources available 

The Ideal Candidate Will Have: 

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) 

Experience teaching Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 

Strong knowledge of the UK Primary National Curriculum 

Experience preparing pupils for SATs 

Excellent classroom management skills 

A passion for helping pupils achieve their full potential
