We are seeking a dedicated and experienced School Administrator to join our reputable private school in Blackburn on a 1-year fixed-term contract, commencing September 2025. This is a full-time, 52-week position, offering a stable and integral role within our supportive school community.
The Role: As a School Administrator, you will be a vital member of our administrative team, ensuring the smooth and efficient daily operations of the school office. This is a dynamic and varied role, requiring exceptional organisational skills, attention to detail, and a professional, welcoming demeanour.
Key Responsibilities:
General School Administration: Providing comprehensive administrative support to the Headteacher, teaching staff, and wider school team.
Reception & Front of House: Acting as the first point of contact for parents, visitors, and students, managing enquiries via phone, email, and in person.
Pupil Records & Data Management: Maintaining accurate and confidential pupil records, attendance data, and other school databases (experience with school management systems like SIMS, Arbor, or iSAMS is highly desirable).
Communication: Preparing and distributing correspondence, newsletters, and other communications to parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
Event Support: Assisting with the organisation and administration of school events, open days, and parent evenings.
Safeguarding: Upholding the school's robust safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the well-being of all students.
Resource Management: Managing office supplies, ordering, and maintaining stock levels.
Financial Administration (desirable): Supporting basic financial processes such as processing invoices or petty cash (if applicable to the role).
Who We Are Looking For:
Proven administrative experience in a busy office environment, ideally within a school or educational setting.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally and empathetically with diverse groups.
Strong organisational abilities and meticulous attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
A proactive, flexible, and adaptable approach to work, capable of managing multiple priorities.
A committed team player with a positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to all aspects of school life.
An understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding in a school environment (an Enhanced DBS check will be required).
Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
