Youth Development Manager
Location: Portsmouth, Hampshire
Salary: £30,000 – £35,000
Contract: Full-time, Permanent
Holidays: 25 days + Bank Holidays
SLR are proud to be recruiting for a well-respected local charity, dedicated to empowering young people and creating lasting community impact. We’re looking for a passionate and experienced Youth Development Manager with a background in social work to lead and deliver programmes that help young people reach their full potential.
In this role, you’ll balance frontline engagement with strategic programme management- designing, managing and evaluating initiatives, while also overseeing safeguarding and building strong partnerships.
What you’ll be doing:

Leading and managing youth development programmes that promote wellbeing and positive outcomes
*
Providing professional case management and support to young people and families
*
Acting as Designated Safeguarding Lead, ensuring compliance with safeguarding legislation
*
Building partnerships with schools, community groups, local authorities and service providers
*
Supervising and mentoring youth workers and volunteers to maintain best practice
*
Monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on programme outcomes
*
Advocating for young people’s voices in local forums and strategic discussions
What we’re looking for:

Degree in Social Work, Youth Work or Family Support
*
Proven experience in case management and direct support with young people
*
Strong knowledge of safeguarding and child protection frameworks
*
Leadership and supervisory experience
*
Excellent communication, empathy, and conflict resolution skills
*
Knowledge of restorative approaches is desirableBefore You Apply
