Youth Engagement Officer Salary: £24,700 - £26,700 Location: Covering Newport & Torfaen County Contract: Full-time Do you have a passion for working with young people? Looking for a new challenge where you can truly make a difference? We’ve got an exciting opportunity for a Youth Engagement Officer to join our team and play a vital role in shaping futures across Newport and Torfaen. 💼 What’s the Role About? As a Youth Engagement Officer, your mission will be to reach out and inspire young people aged 16–19 to take their next step with Jobs Growth Wales+, a Welsh Government programme designed to support them into training, work, or further education. You'll be out in the community—building relationships, spotting opportunities, and connecting with schools, youth services, charities, and other organisations to engage and support new learners outside of the traditional referral channels. This is a perfect role for someone with a youth work, support, or community background who’s confident, proactive, and passionate about giving young people the best start in life. 🔑 What You’ll Be Doing: * Identifying and engaging new learners for the Jobs Growth Wales+ programme * Building relationships with schools, voluntary groups, community centres, and other support networks * Promoting a range of training programmes through outreach, events, and digital campaigns * Representing at open days, career fairs, and community events * Generating leads through sales calls, networking, and partnerships * Collaborating with organisations to develop new learner referral pathways * Meeting key targets and KPIs to help drive the success of the programme 🙌 What We’re Looking For: * A confident communicator with a natural ability to connect with young people * Experience working in youth support, education, community outreach, or a similar role * Strong relationship-building and networking skills * Organised and self-motivated with the ability to manage a varied workload * Comfortable presenting and promoting to diverse audiences * IT literate with good digital communication skills * Knowledge of safeguarding and a commitment to learner welfare * A full driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable (as travel is involved) Due to the high volume of applications Recruited UK receives, we will make every effort to respond with feedback although this is not always possible. If you have not been contacted within 5 days, then unfortunately you have not been successful on this occasion, but we may keep your details on file and contact you with future opportunities If you feel you match the criteria above, please apply
