Youth Support Worker – Borough of Southwark – Secondary PRU – ASAP Start – £89–£115 Per Day – Full-Time – Alternative Provision Setting • Youth Support Worker required in Southwark • Youth Support Worker required immediately • Youth Support Worker to support 1:1 and small groups • Youth Support Worker must undergo an Enhanced DBS check Are you experienced in supporting young people who are at risk of exclusion or disengagement from mainstream education? Do you have a passion for helping students who present with challenging behaviour and mental health needs? Would you be open to working within a specialist Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) environment? If you answered yes to the above, this Youth Support Worker role could be exactly what you’re looking for! The Role – Youth Support Worker We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join a welcoming secondary PRU in Southwark. In this role, you will support students aged 11–16 who have been referred to the provision due to behavioural challenges, SEMH needs, or complex personal circumstances that could not be supported in mainstream schools. As a Youth Support Worker, you will deliver focused 1:1 interventions and small group sessions, helping students develop positive coping strategies, re-engage with their learning, and build their self-confidence. The ideal candidate will have experience supporting young people with SEMH, ADHD, trauma, or other additional needs. Your calm, patient, and consistent approach will be key in building trust and helping students make positive progress in this alternative provision setting. The School – Secondary PRU in Southwark Located in the heart of the London Borough of Southwark, this secondary PRU caters to approximately 95 students aged 11–16 with a variety of complex needs, including SEMH, ADHD, and backgrounds of trauma. The school is committed to providing a therapeutic, structured environment where each student has access to tailored support and individual learning pathways. The PRU was rated ‘Good’ by Ofsted in their latest inspection, underlining their dedication to inclusion and improving outcomes for all students.
