The Role - Youth Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a committed and empathetic Youth Teaching Assistant to join a specialist all-through SEMH school in Wandsworth. This role involves supporting students aged 5-19 who have a range of social, emotional, and mental health needs, often alongside additional learning difficulties or trauma-related behaviours.
You will work across both primary and secondary phases, providing 1:1 and small group support, helping students to regulate their emotions, engage with learning, and develop essential life skills. The ideal candidate will have experience in youth work, mentoring, or specialist education settings, and be confident in using de-escalation strategies and trauma-informed approaches.
Your ability to build trust, remain calm under pressure, and provide consistent support will be key in helping students thrive.
