We're looking for dedicated Youth Workers to join a dynamic team supporting pupils with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs at an Alternative Provision within our partnered school, part of the Cabot Learning Federation.
These young people have often faced significant challenges. Your role will be to help them re-engage with learning, build trust, and develop the skills they need to succeed-both in and out of the classroom.
This is a full-time position. You must be available Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm, and have access to a car with business insurance.
What You'll Be Doing
Providing 1:1 or 2:1 support in a nurturing, trauma-informed environment
Facilitating learning and emotional development through structured activities and community-based experiences
Supporting students with EHCPs, particularly in Years 10 and 11, who require consistent, intensive guidance
Acting as a positive role model, helping pupils build resilience, self-esteem, and social skills
Collaborating with teachers, mentors, and external professionals to ensure holistic support
A Day in the Life
Start your day by collecting a student and bringing them to school-building rapport from the moment the day begins
Support learning, lead enrichment activities, and accompany students on community outings
End the day by ensuring a safe return home, closing the loop on a day full of growth and connection
What You Bring
A full UK driving licence, access to a vehicle, and business insurance
Experience supporting children or young people with SEMH needs (in schools or alternative settings)
A calm, resilient, and empathetic approach to behaviour and relationship-building
A background that helps you relate to the challenges these pupils face-and a passion for helping them find a better path (desirable)
