About the role:
The Youth Worker will be supporting young people with Special educational needs in small group classes and on a 1:1 basis.

About the school:
A Secondary Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) offering a supportive and flexible educational setting for students who face challenges that make mainstream schooling difficult. The school works closely with schools, families, and pupils to provide a range of options aimed at promoting rapid progress, re-engagement, and long-term positive change.
The school caters to students with complex needs, including behavioural difficulties, mental health issues, and special educational needs (SEND) and their goal is to provide an individualised, nurturing environment that helps each student overcome personal barriers and re-engage with their education.
With smaller class sizes and tailored support, the school creates a setting where students can rebuild their confidence, develop essential skills, and, where appropriate, prepare for reintegration into mainstream school or transition to the next stage of their education.
Their approach centres on understanding each student’s unique circumstances, fostering self-belief, and supporting meaningful, lasting change from within.
About you:
A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications and more is desired but not required.
Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds
Passionate about supporting vulnerable young people and making a meaningful contribution.
Confident in using initiative and taking a proactive approach to challenges.
