ABC Teachers are currently looking to appoint dedicated and compassionate Youth Workers to join an amazing team in a unique outdoor learning setting in Worcestershire.
Supporting students within Primary and Secondary age groups in an alternative provision environment.
Full time/Part-time hours available Monday-Friday
About the role
The provision offers a diverse range of educational experiences built around the principles of Care Farming, using the land, animals, and the natural environment as powerful tools to engage and inspire children.
Drawing on both extensive research and first-hand experience, working outdoors, particularly in a farm setting can boost confidence, self-belief, and wellbeing. It provides a rich, hands-on environment where learning feels meaningful, active, and connected to the real world.
The team delivers personalised alternative education programmes for children at risk of exclusion, alongside enrichment sessions and events for visiting schools and home-educated learners.
They are looking for a passionate and creative individual to join their team, supporting children and young people to re-engage with learning through hands-on, outdoor experiences. Every day is different, from caring for animals and working on the land, to delivering nature-based activities that build confidence, teamwork, and life skills.
You will be part of a small, supportive team to plan and deliver engaging sessions that meet the needs and interests of each learner. The role involves building trusting relationships, encouraging positive behaviour, and helping every young person to recognise their strengths and potential.
About the school:
The provision offers a nurturing, outdoor-focused learning experience for students who have been excluded from school and with special educational needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition, Social Emotional Mental Health, trauma, and other learning difficulties.
The provision provides a tailored alternative education program for children at risk of exclusion, as well as activity sessions and events for visiting schools and Home Ed students.
The unique combination of practical, purposeful activities guided by well trained staff on an individual basis or in small groups, means that what the provision has a real impact on the children they work with. Regular positive feedback from school leaders notice the differences in children following time spent at The Provision.
You will work with a small supportive Team making a difference to children’s lives.
