Youth Worker Withing SEN Schools, Swindon
We are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Youth Worker to join a vibrant and inclusive SEN school in Swindon. The Role
As a Youth Worker in this specialist school setting, you will:
Build positive, trusting relationships with pupils aged 5–19 with a range of needs, including ASD, SLD, SEMH, communication difficulties, and complex learning needs.
Support students with emotional regulation, social skills, behaviour management, and engagement in learning.
Provide 1:1 mentoring, pastoral support, and small-group interventions.
Promote independence, life skills, and personal development both in and outside the classroom.
Respond calmly and flexibly to changes in behaviour, emotional needs, or routine.
Work collaboratively with teaching staff, pastoral leads, therapists, and families.
Assist with personal care or moving and handling where required (training can be provided).

Requirements
To be considered for the Youth Worker role, you will:
Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with additional needs.
Be calm, patient, and empathetic.
Have experience working with children or young people (formal or informal).
Be confident supporting behaviour, emotional wellbeing, and social development.
Be comfortable assisting with personal care if required.
Have experience or an understanding of SEN such as ASD, SLD, PMLD, or SEMH.
Have your own transport (desirable).
Hold a DBS on the Update Service or be willing to apply for one.
Be open to ongoing CPD and professional development.
Salary
£88.92-£91 per day, dependent on qualifications, training, and experience.
