Account Manager
Location: Lambourn, West Berkshire
Pay Rate: £14.35 per hour
Hours: Monday to Friday, 9:00 am to 5:30 pm
Contract: Temporary to Permanent (12-week temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate)
About the Opportunity
Our client is seeking a dynamic Logistics Account Manager to join their team. This is an exciting chance to be the main point of contact for customers, ensuring excellent service while managing the fast-paced day-to-day operations.
In this role, the successful candidate will build strong customer relationships, collaborating closely with warehouse, transport, and operational teams to ensure seamless logistics processes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage a diverse portfolio of customer accounts
Build strong relationships with clients
Understand customers' products, processes, and business needs
Coordinate deliveries and orders
Liaise with warehouse teams
Monitor service levels and operational performance
Produce reports and participate in customer meetings and reviews
Investigate and resolve operational issues, stock discrepancies, and delivery delays
Identify potential risks and implement solutions
Support product launches, promotions, and seasonal peaks
Seek opportunities to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
Ensure accurate invoicing and account administration
Assist with customer onboarding and account development projectsAbout You
To excel in this role, the ideal candidate will be organised, proactive, and customer-focused, with previous experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
Essential Skills & Experience
Experience within logistics, warehousing, fulfilment, freight, supply chain, or a similar environment
Previous experience managing customer or client accounts
Strong communication and relationship-building skills
Good understanding of logistics operations
Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple tasks effectively
Strong problem-solving skills and keen attention to detail
Commercial awareness and proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), ERP systems, or logistics software
Self-motivated and a team playerDesirable Experience
Background in a 3PL environment
Knowledge of international freight or import/export processes
Familiarity with KPIs and service level agreements
Understanding of customs procedures or bonded warehousing
Experience analysing operational data and producing reports
